The distinction between letting go and letting be is quietly powerful.

Letting go suggests there was once something to hold. Letting be releases the claim without denying that the longing was real.

Perhaps it is not the person who must be released, but the imagined future built around them...allowing the ache to reveal what the heart desired without requiring someone who was never ours to fulfill it.

Beautifully restrained work.

Exactly. People don’t want to be rejected and want the same back not because they have changed, because they don’t want to accept the reasons for being rejected. And if taken back the exact pattern restarts but worse because now you feel even more resentment.
